Hot Stone Mexican Steak
Another recipe for your Raclette/Hot Stone
How about this Tex-Mex inspired dish for an informal party special?
For 8 guests you will need at least 2lbs tender steak cut into thin strips.
Make a marinade as follows -
- A half cup olive oil
- Half a cup of a good quality tomato ketchup
- 4 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
- 3 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
- Teaspoon salt or a generous glug of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper - or more to taste
- 6 cloves garlic
Press the garlic into a large bowl and stir in all the other ingredients. Put the thin strips of meat into the marinade and stir gently until well covered. Marinate for an hour stiring once.
Get your Raclette/hot stone well warmed up in advance. Bring the meat to the table and let your guests cook it themselves - rare or well cooked as they prefer.
Serve with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, warmed mexican breads and Mexican beer.
